| PURPOSE | To enncourage volunteerism in the community and to help all people who eat to stretch |
| their food budget.Volunteer service is defined an "friendly acts of good will or service to |
| the benefit of one's neighbor(s) or the community as a whole." |
| SERVICES | Provides a monthly food package at about one-half retail price in exchange for $14 plus |
| OFFERED | two hours of any type of community service. The food is purchased in bulk by |
| professional buyers and is never low-quality, damaged or govt. surplus. |
| REFERRAL SOURCES | Self-referral, word-of-mouth, churches, etc. |
| HOURS OF SERVICE | SHARE distribution is the fourth Saturday of each month. There are some |
| exceptions. Call for details. |
| FEES FOR SERVICE | The $14 for each food SHARE can be paid in cash or with an |
| Independence Card. Some sites charge $.50 to $1.00 per SHARE |
